You may recall that on March 30th the Mayor’s Office of Transportation and Utilities announced the launch of a Parklet Pilot Program.  The program allows communities from across Philadelphia to request permission to build and maintain Parklets in their neighborhood. MOTU will work with businesses and community groups interested in building Parklets to make sure they are designed safely and fit in well with their neighborhood.

In addition to providing programmatic and technical support to communities and businesses interested in developing Parklets the Mayor’s Office of Transportation and Utilities is prepared to provide monetary resources up to $5,000 this process. Community organizations interested in building Parklets in their neighborhood and receiving City monetary (as well as technical) support for this process should review this Parklet Grant RFP and complete the application process by close of business, 05/04/2012.
