Tune In

downloadWhat would celebrations be without good tunes?  We’re kicking off Transportation and Utilities month with a MOTUnes Extravaganza!! October 1st & 2nd we heard MOTUnes on WXPN.  Members of the WXPN community will curate transportation related songs for WXPN’s Top Five @ 5.  These songs are now featured right here on the MOTU blog!  Check out the Train MOTUnes featured on October 1st and Plane MOTUnes featured on October 2nd.

freelibrary11Throughout October, MOTU and the Free Library of Philadelphia will be showcasing unique archival images from Philadelphia’s transportation history in an on-line exhibit called “How’d we get here?” (Click image or exhibit title to access). From the first hot air balloon in the US, to the fire that destroyed the Broad Street Station, learn more about Philadelphia’s infrastructure and the people who built it.  In addition, the pictures will be on-display at the Free Library’s Central Branch in person all month long!
